January 2025 Update: Rewind, Quick Commands & Smoother Backtesting

This month we focused on making backtesting feel better. Smoother. More intuitive. We shipped a feature traders have been requesting since day one, added keyboard controls for power users, redesigned the session creation flow, and squashed bugs that were disrupting the experience.

Rewind Is Finally Here

You asked for it. We built it.

Skipped too far past market open? Missed an entry you wanted to test? No problem. Rewind lets you go back candles and retry.

How It Works

• Available to Premium users

• Click the rewind button or use keyboard controls to step backward

• Cannot be used while you have open or pending trades (close them first)

No more restarting entire sessions because you clicked one too many times. Just rewind and keep going.

Quick Commands for Backtesting

For those who like to keep their hands on the keyboard, we've added essential shortcuts to control playback without touching your mouse.

We've added a small keyboard icon next to your playback controls. Hover over it anytime you need a reminder of what's available.

Redesigned Create Session Form

Starting a new backtesting session just got easier.

We've completely redesigned the session creation form:

• Split into clear sections — No more wall of options. Everything is grouped logically so you can find what you need fast.

• More intuitive layout — The flow makes sense. Select your asset, pick your date, set your parameters, go.

• Easier to read — Cleaner typography and spacing so nothing feels cramped.

It's a small change that makes a big difference, especially when you're creating sessions every day.

Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements

We spent serious time this month making sure the platform just works. Here's what we fixed:

Weekend Skip Fix

Previously, some users would get stuck at random points during backtesting — most commonly on weekends. We've completely rebuilt the system responsible for handling non-trading hours. Playback now smoothly skips weekends and dead time without any hiccups.

Session Loading Fix

Fixed an issue where loading a saved session would skip users forward 5+ minutes unexpectedly. If you intentionally closed a session at a specific time to continue later, it now loads exactly where you left off. Immersion preserved.

Debug Button for Support

Having an issue? There's now a debug button in the bottom right corner of the backtesting screen. Click it to copy diagnostic information to your clipboard, then paste it into a support ticket on Discord. This helps us understand exactly what's happening on your end so we can fix problems faster.

We've deployed dozens of smaller fixes and stability improvements across the platform. Things should feel snappier and more reliable overall.
